Women’s Club names new board
STEELE CREEK The Palisades Women’s Club, founded in 2008, recently elected new board members.
New board members: president, Connie Lowry; vice-president, Linda Hodges; recording secretary, Janet Pawul; corresponding secretary, Jann Pollard; treasurer, Jackie Canarick; service chair, Debbie Ellison; social chair, Linda Bonerba; and membership, Bonnie Stonum and Nicky Engel.
The community service organization, with more than 80 members, this year supported Holy Angels, Operation Bologna Sandwich, Dress for Success and Loaves & Fishes.
Social events included Harvest Howl Dinner, Gallery & Museum Tour, Holiday Party, Sip & Paint, PWC’s Chef Matt’s Cooking Class, Sunset Social and a Summer Kick-Off event.
The club meets monthly at Palisades Country Club. Membership is open to Palisades Country Club members, Palisades Sports Club members and Palisades residents. For membership information, email PWC@gmail.com.
Master Gardener applications accepted
YORK Clemson Extension Service is taking applications for the Master Gardener Class. The class will be held from 9 a.m. to noon Tuesdays Aug. 6-Nov. 12 at the Clemson Extension Office, 120 N. Congress St.
The program is open to all adults, regardless of gardening experience. Participants learn about all aspects of gardening from soils, to growing vegetables, fruits, trees, shrubs, flowers and lawns. They also learn about garden pests, beneficial insects and plant physiology.
Class costs $300. In addition to the fee, participants must volunteer a minimum of 40 hours in service to the community.
Enrollment is limited, and applications are due by July 6. Applicants will be contacted in July. Call 803-684-9919 for more information.
Rotary meets Tuesdays
LAKE WYLIE Lake Wylie Rotary Club meets at the noon Tuesdays at Good Samaritan United Methodist Church, 5220 Crowders Cove Lane.
The guest speaker July 16 will be Wendy Schonfeld of RideAbility Therapeutic Riding Center.
