The third annual Basketball 101 Academy will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. July 8-11 at Oakridge Middle School for students who have completed K5-seventh grade.

The cost is $50.

Club offers golf, tennis, swim

River Hills Country Club, One Country Club Drive, offers the following sports camps:

• Golf/Tennis/Swim runs 9 a.m.-3 p.m. July 16-19. Cost is $150 for members, $190 for non-members.

• Junior Golf runs 10 a.m.-noon July 23-25. Cost is $70 fir members, $90 for non-members.

• Golf/Tennis runs 9 a.m.-noon July 30-Aug. 1. Cost is $100 for members, $125 for non-members.

• Tennis runs 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Aug. 5-8. Call for pricing.

An active summer at Clover High

Clover High athletes are keeping active during the summer with offseason activities. Volleyball camp recently attracted 30 participants. The football team continues offseason conditioning and weight-lifting.

The Blue Eagles open the fall season under new coach Chad Smith at home Aug. 23 against South Florence, followed by an Aug. 30 home game with Forestview. Both games are scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m.


Lupus Foundation event Aug. 26

The Lupus Foundation of America, North Carolina Chapter will be the beneficiary of the 13th annual Links for Lupus Golf Tournament on Aug. 26.

Presented by LITTLE Diversified Architectural Consulting, the Links for Lupus Golf Tournament will be held at Cedarwood Country Club, 4100 Pineville-Matthews Road.

Registration kicks off at 11 a.m. followed by a shotgun start at 12:30 p.m. and dinner reception at 5:30 p.m. All players will receive lunch and dinner, beverages during play, official tournament gift, goodie bag and a team photograph. Prizes awarded.

‘Bottoms Up for Booty’ helps cause

24 Hours of Booty Inc. will be the beneficiary of the seventh annual “Bottoms Up for Booty” on July 18 from 6 to 9 p.m. at NoDa Brewing Co., 2229 N. Davidson St.

Hosted by Team Gita, “Bottoms Up for Booty” will feature food from Herban Legend Food Truck, beer and raffle items including a road bike.

Tickets cost $25 and can be purchased online at http://bottomsupforbooty7. Proceeds go to the 12th annual 24 Hours of Booty presented by Levine Cancer Institute.

This year’s charity cycling event is scheduled to roll on the Myers Park “Booty Loop” at 7 p.m. July 25 to 7 p.m. July 27 when 1,200 participants will be riding and raising money to help fight cancer.
