LAKE WYLIE — Clover Parks and Recreation Department hosted the summer Basketball 101 Academy last week at Oakridge Middle School.
Leading the four-day basketball fundamentals camp for boys and girls who completed grades K5 through seventh grade was Clover High School coach Bailey Jackson.
“We work them pretty hard for two hours,” Jackson said. “And I think moms and dads appreciate that.”
In its third year, there were 57 campers.
“We’re getting bigger” Jackson said saying the first year there were 35 students.
The camp featured practice of offensive skills and fundamentals, defensive stance and positioning, and concepts of team play. Clover High School players and coaches helped instruct the campers.
“Little Eagles” basketball camp was held in June at Clover High School for students who completed grades K5-sixth.
