Steady stream of school supplies coming in but more needed

— The community is making sure Clover students have the supplies they need when school starts Aug. 21.

All four York County school districts have launched their annual drives for school supplies.

The drives are a partnership between the school districts and The Herald and its sister community newspapers – Lake Wylie Pilot, Enquirer-Herald and Fort Mill Times.

Beth Jackson, vice president of human resources for Clover Community Bank, said so far, the collection drive is going well.

You can drop off supplies at the bank’s locations in Lake Wylie and Clover, along with the Clover School District office.

“We try to work with schools to promote anything going,” Jackson said.

So far, she said, they are seeing a lot of support.

“We’re getting a really good variety,” she said from the Clover location. “We have a big box and we still need to fill it up.”

Donations will be collected through Aug. 9. Supplies will be distributed from 8 a.m. to noon Aug. 10 at Clover School District Resource Center, 300 Clinton Ave.
