Lake Wylie Area Plan could get scrapped

— At its July 16 meeting, the county planning commission recommended that York County Council deny a Lake Wylie Area Plan forged through staff and community input last year. The thumbs-down vote doesn’t mean the plan can’t be put in place. Final say comes from Council.

“It’s a recommendation,” said Steve Allen, planning services manager for the county. “Any decision they send out of the planning commission regarding planning issues, it’s all recommendation to Council.”
