ROCK HILL — The United Way of York County has hired Rebecca Melton as its new president and chief professional officer.
Melton has been executive director of the Childrens Attention Home since 2011. Before that, she was chief executive officer of the Upper Palmetto Chapter of the American Red Cross for 23 years.
Her proven experience in non-profit organizations, her knowledge of county needs, and her relationships in the York County community are strengths that will enable her to continue to move the United Way forward in meeting the needs of this area, said Judy Mobley, chairwoman of the United Ways board of directors.
Meltons first day with the United Way will be Aug. 28.
