York Muslims to hold unity with Christians event Sunday

September 26, 2013

YORK - Members of the Islamville group in western York County who operate a cafe and market in downtown York are inviting the public to an event Sunday designed to show unity.

The event, called “We Are One Family, the Family of God” is from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Oasis Cafe & Market, 25 Congress St. York.

The idea is for Muslims and Christians to meet and discuss shared faith ideals and community service, said Naaji Alim, an elder at Islamville. Islamville is a community of Muslims who have lived outside York for almost three decades. The group has held many interfaith events with Christians and churches.
