Junk in the Trunk sale Saturday

All Saints Catholic Church Women’s Organization presents Junk in the Trunk from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, Oct. 5, at the church, 530 S.C. 274.

Cost for a spot – two parking spaces – is $10. There are 25 spots are available. The vendor is responsible for setup and cleanup.

Cancer survivors celebration Sunday

Steele Creek Presbyterian Church, 7407 Steele Creek Road, will hold a celebration for cancer survivors during the 11 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 6, worship service.

The celebration will feature prayers, music and speakers from the Susan G. Komen Foundation and American Cancer Society.

Following the service, a reception will be held in the Bledsoe Family Life Center where attendees can tie a knot in a prayer quilt for those with cancer or in memory of those died from the disease.

Churches host fall festival Oct. 12

Pleasant Hill Church and Relevant Church, 15000 York Road, will hold a Community Harvest and Fall Festival from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Oct. 12.

Hinson Girls in concert Oct. 13

Pleasant Hill Church, 15000 York Road, hosts The Hinson Girls at 7 p.m. Oct. 13.

The Hinson Girls are four sisters from Lancaster who have been performing since December 2009. In March 2012, they won first place at the SC Bluegrass Band Championship held at the Renofest Bluegrass Festival in Hartsville.

Bethel Baptist hosts revival Oct. 13-16

Bethel Baptist Church, 6031 Charlotte Hwy., will host a revival Oct. 13-16.

The revival begins at 11 a.m. Oct. 13 and continues at 7 p.m. Oct. 13-16.

Community clothing closet open Oct. 19

Christ the King Church is hosting a free Community Clothing Closet event from 9 a.m. to noon Oct. 19.

In addition to the free clothing giveaway, the church food pantry will be open and giving out free groceries. The church health ministry will be on-site providing free health checks, and the children and families ministry will provide a free craft area for children.

Craft and Food Bazaar Nov. 2

Tirzah Associated Reformed Presbyterian Church, 6161 Mt. Gallant Road. presents Tirzah Fest Craft and Food Bazaar from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Nov. 2.

There will be crafts and baskets for Christmas giving for sale along with canned vegetables, frozen home-cooked casserole meals, fresh-baked cakes, cookies and candies and vendors.

Sausage biscuits with juice and coffee will be for sale beginning at 8 a.m., and Thanksgiving dinner with the trimmings at noon, with take-out starting at 10 a.m.

Proceeds benefit the Tirzah Women’s Missions Fund.

Dine Mondays for HOPE

The Waffle House-Lake Wylie and Knights of Columbus of All Saints Council No. 14475 are raising money for Operation HOPE (Helping Other People Everyday), a statewide campaign to help people with intellectual disabilities.

Every first Monday of the month, Waffle House will donate 20 percent of its proceeds to Operation HOPE.

The Community Cafe offers free weekly lunches 11:30 a.m.-2 p.m. Tuesdays at Lake Wylie Christian Assembly.

The Cafe at Lake Wylie Lutheran Church in Fort Mill serves lunch 11:30 a.m.-2 p.m.

Church hosts free exercise classes

Free exercises classes are offered Mondays at Christ the King Church, 13501 S. Tryon St. The class is taught by Kathryn Webner, registered nurse, health fitness specialist and a personal trainer.

The Beginner Strength & Conditioning Class is from 5:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. targeting balance, endurance and improved muscular strength.

This class is appropriate for seniors, the non-exerciser, or someone recovering from an injury.

The Group Circuit Class from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. is designed to improve total body strength and cardiovascular fitness.

This class is offered for all fitness levels, 12 years and older. Bring a mat, towel and water.

Singles groups meets Tuesdays

New River Community Church is holding two singles groups, both meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesdays.

• FUSION is for anyone out of high school to age 24. The group meets at a member’s home in York. Singles can build friendships through studying God’s Word together, serving in the community, having fun, and discussing challenges of life.

• Singles Gatherings is for adults ages 25 and older. The group meets at the church, 133 Carroll Cove Road. Connection and Bible study are the primary focuses. Child care is provided for children 10 and younger.

Scherer hosts moms

Scherer Presbyterian Church, 4800 Charlotte Hwy., hosts REST4Moms from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. the second Tuesday of the month.

Mothers begin the morning with coffee, tea and goodies, followed by topics of interest, crafts, conversation and discussion. Children are treated to crafts, snacks and playtime. Annual cost is $10.
