River Hills Lions Club’s Benefit Dinner Oct. 5

Lions benefit dinner, auction Saturday

The River Hills Lions Club seeks donations for its annual Benefit Dinner with live and silent auctions to be held Saturday, Oct. 5, at River Hills Country Club. Proceeds go to River Hills/Lake Wylie EMS.

Examples of auction items are gift certificates, professional and college sports tickets, artwork, restaurant dinner packages, weekend getaways, automobiles, jewelry, theater tickets and Jet Skis.

Dinner tickets cost $80 per person. Checks may be mailed to RH Lions Club/Martin Lewis, 33 Fairway Ridge, Lake Wylie, SC 29710, with memo: Lions Club Benefit Dinner 2013.

Club plans extravaganza

Woman’s Club of Rock Hill is hosting a Fall Extravaganza at 9 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 5, at 607 Aiken Ave.

Autumn and Christmas items will be featured. Club members and local vendors will have handmade arts and crafts, baked goods, seasonal items and plants for sale. For information, call 803-322-8281 or 803-366-9027.

River Hills Women’s luncheon Oct. 16

The River Hills Women’s Club luncheon focuses on fashion Oct. 16 at River Hills Country Club. A fashion show presented by five merchants from Black Lion will include designer lines of clothing, accessories, jewelry and stocking stuffers. Members will be able to browse and shop.

Steve Smith of Black Lion, known as the “Silver Voice,” will emcee the show. Cocktails will be served at noon followed by lunch at 12:30 p.m. and the program at 1 p.m.

Clover Woman’s Club plans yard sale

The Clover Woman’s Club will have a flea market and yard sale fundraiser from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 19 at the Clover School District Office, 604 Bethel St.

The event will benefit the club’s scholarship fund. Donated items may be dropped off from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesdays and Wednesdays through Oct. 17 at Clover Community Center, 120 Bethel St.

Scouts selling popcorn

Boys Scout Troop 333 is holding its popcorn fundraiser with Scouts going door-to-door.

Trail’s End Popcorn is offering four products: Dark & White Chocolately Drizzle, Bacon Ranch, Sour Cream & Onion, and Jalapeno Cheddar Cheese. Up to 70 percent of all sales go to the local troop.
