River Hills Women’s luncheon Oct. 16

The River Hills Women’s Club luncheon focuses on fashion Oct. 16 at River Hills Country Club.

A fashion show presented by five merchants from Black Lion will include designer lines of clothing, accessories, jewelry and stocking stuffers. Members will be able to browse and shop.

Steve Smith of Black Lion, known as the “Silver Voice,” will emcee the show.

Cocktails will be served at noon followed by lunch at 12:30 p.m. and the program at 1 p.m.

Kings Mountain women plan fall fest

The Kings Mountain Woman’s Club fall festival will be Wednesday, Oct. 16 at 108 E. Mountain St., Kings Mountain, NC

Lunch will be from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and dinner will be 5:30 to 7 p.m. Cost is $10 adults and $5 for children younger than 12.

Plate include choice of turkey or ham, rice with gravy, dressing, cranberry sauce, candied yams, green beans, slaw, rolls, homemade dessert and choice of tea or coffee. Eat in or take-out available.

Clover Woman’s Club plans yard sale

The Clover Woman’s Club will have a flea market and yard sale fundraiser from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 19 at the Clover School District Office, 604 Bethel St.

The event will benefit the club’s scholarship fund. Donated items may be dropped off from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesdays and Wednesdays through Oct. 17 at Clover Community Center, 120 Bethel St.

Scouts selling popcorn

Boys Scout Troop 333 is holding its popcorn fundraiser with Scouts going door-to-door.

Trail’s End Popcorn is offering four products: Dark & White Chocolatey Drizzle, Bacon Ranch, Sour Cream & Onion, and Jalapeno Cheddar Cheese. Up to 70 percent of all sales goes to the local troop.

Bags cost $10. The sale ends Oct. 31. For more information, visit bsat333.com.

Republican women to elect officers

The Clover-Lake Wylie Republican Women will meet Friday, Oct. 25, at the River Hills Country Club, Lake Wylie. The meeting will include the election of the group’s new officers.

The CLWRW welcomes guests, members and potential new members — both women and men — but reservations are required. An 11:30 a.m. social will be followed by lunch at noon with the program at 12:30 p.m. Extra seating will be provided for those who cannot attend the luncheon portion.

Cost of the luncheon is $18 per person. To reserve your seat with or without lunch, contact Linda Armfield at 831-1814 by Tuesday, Oct. 22 or email clwrw@comporium.net.

Armfield also handles membership, which includes membership in the S.C. Federation of Republican Women and National Federation of Republican Women. Annual membership dues are $25; associate members dues are $10.
