Police charge two in woman’s shooting

Charlotte-Mecklenburg police have arrested and charged two suspects in the Oct. 19 shooting and attempted robbery of a woman in a home in the 5800 block of Hunting Ridge Lane.

Independence Division patrol officers responded to the home after receiving a call of an assault with a deadly weapon.

Officers found the woman suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Medic transported her to Carolinas Medical Center. The woman suffered serious injuries, police said.

Police charged Raquan Oshea Anderson, 17, with attempted first-degree murder, attempted robbery with a dangerous weapon and conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon.

Police charged Marcellus Morris, 24, with attempted robbery with a dangerous weapon and conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon.

Police said the woman, whose name hasn’t been released, refused to give up anything when a gun was pointed at her. She was shot when she turned around to walk away, police said.
