Catfish anglers take on Wylie Nov. 9

October 28, 2013

Dozens of anglers will head to Buster Boyd Access Area on Nov. 9 in search of the biggest fish in Wylie. The event is the third of a nine-tournament season, which stops twice more on Wylie next year, Jan. 11 and April 12.

Two events in, and the Catawba Catfish Club tournament season sets its sights on Lake Wylie.

. The series had 24 boats and 55 anglers at its most recent event Oct. 5 on Fishing Creek Reservoir.

“Team Whiskers (Shane and Dolly Queen) brought home the win with a three-fish total weight of 64.45 pounds, good for $550,” said organizer Marty Green. “They also had the big fish of the tournament with a 30.55-pound blue to earn the big fish pot of $240.”

Anyone can fish the upcoming Lake Wylie tournament, which runs 7 a.m.-3 p.m. For more information, visit catawbacatfishclub.com.
