Cabarrus County officials have called off the search for a 75-year-old man who had been reported missing Monday night.

The sheriff’s office had issued an alert for Dean Johnny Icenhour, saying he had not been seen since Monday afternoon. But state law enforcement officials said late Tuesday morning that the search had been cancelled, at the request of the Cabarrus County Sheriff’s Office.

There was no initial word if Icenhour had been located.

Icenhour was last seen in the 2500 block of Dutch Road, east of Mount Pleasant.
