Observer Staff ReportsOctober 30, 2013

— The boating and fishing season on the City of Monroe’s three lakes will end after Saturday, officials say.

Monroe’s Water Resources Department will close lakes Lee, Monroe and Twitty for the season on Sunday. The lakes typically are open for boating and fishing from late winter until mid-autumn.
