Albemarle police arrested a Rockwell woman in Monday’s attempted armed robbery of the Quick Chek convenience store at 100 U.S. 52 South.

Angela Faith Roberson, 28, is charged with attempted robbery with a dangerous weapon. She was taken to the Stanly County Jail under a $30,000 secured bond and has an initial court appearance scheduled for Monday.

Police said a woman walked up to the cashier at 8 p.m. Monday and demanded money, telling the cashier she had a gun.

The cashier activated the panic alarm, and the assailant ran from the store, police said. No money was taken, and no one was hurt, police said.

Officers apprehended the suspect behind the store.
