Twenty-one teams from Charlotte have registered for a chance to win a $10,000 donation for a local charity of their choice in a free, brain-challenging contest sponsored by SleepBetter.org. and Carpenter Co.

The contest is called the Quest for the Lost Hour.

Up to 50 teams can register for the contest, by 11:59 p.m. Friday at http://sleepbetter.org/thequest.

Multiple teams can form around a single local non-profit. A team need only consist of a team captain for registration but should recruit up to two more brainiac members by Saturday. Four teams are registered from the Literacy Council of Union County alone, contest spokesman Steve Cummings said.

SleepBetter.org is a sleep tips and information website created by Carpenter Co., which, among other items, manufacturers bedding products. No products will be sold during the contest, and no purchase is required to participate.

Once registered, teams will compete in a Grand Finale at the Mint Museum, Randolph at 3 p.m. Saturday. Admission to the Mint will be free to contest participants that day.
