Panel to discuss choices and changes in Charlotte region’s public education

Choices, challenges and changes in public education will be the focus of a Nov. 9 forum sponsored by UNC Charlotte and Staying Ahead Carolina, a social networking group.

Panelists include Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools Superintendent Heath Morrison, Eddie Goodall of the N.C. Public Charter Schools Association, state Rep. Rob Bryan (R-Mecklenburg) and Bill Anderson, executive director of the nonprofit advocacy group MeckEd.

Ellen McIntyre, dean of the UNCC College of Education, will lead a discussion of how families make school choices, what changes and challenges lie on the horizon and how different educational institutions can cooperate.
