2 charged in shooting death of 18-year-old woman on Halloween night

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police have charged a second suspect in the shooting death of an 18-year-old woman on Halloween night.

On Saturday, Harold Lindsey, 19, of Charlotte, was charged with murder and robbery with a dangerous weapon, authorities said.

According to police, Lindsey turned himself in to the Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office overnight.

On Friday evening, police charged Charlotte resident Deon Quintin McDonald, 19, with murder, robbery with a dangerous weapon, and assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury.

McDonald and Lindsey were transferred to the Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office. They were charged in the death of Azjee Rolanda Pierce.

Investigators said she was killed and another person seriously injured in shootings around 9:15 p.m. Thursday at an apartment building in the 6200 block of Rosecroft Drive off W.T. Harris Boulevard near Milton Road.

Police said they found two victims at the shooting scene. Pierce was declared dead at the scene. The other person, whose name has not been released, was taken by Medic to Carolinas Medical Center.

Authorities spent several hours Thursday night and early Friday looking for witnesses.

Detectives said that the victims and at least one of the suspects knew one another and during the course of a drug transaction, the victims were shot.
