Iredell County authorities said Thursday a Statesville man has been charged with sexual exploitation of a minor.

Jeremy Houston Bruce, 32, of Eight Point Drive, was charged with five counts of third-degree sexual exploitation of a minor.

On Nov. 7, the county sheriff’s office was asked by the State Bureau of Investigation to help with a search warrant for a home in eastern Iredell County. The warrant was based on an ongoing investigation by Charlotte Mecklenburg Police into child pornography, Iredell officials said.

A search of computers at the home turned up numerous images and videos of children in sexually explicit conduct with adults, according to the sheriff’s office.

Bruce was taken to the Iredell County Detention Center and placed under a $50,000 secured bond.

The investigation is continuing.
