A power outage Thursday night snuffed out the lights for 510 homes and businesses for a little over an hour in the Myers Park area of Charlotte, Duke Energy reported.

A car hit a utility pole off Edgehill Road, which caused a circuit to go out at 7:38 p.m., Duke spokesman Greg Clarke said. Power was restored to most of the homes and businesses by 8:48 p.m., he said.
