Caldwell County authorities say a lengthy investigation has ended with the arrest of a woman on drug charges.

The suspect, 48-year-old Lisa McCreary Durant of Lenoir, has three previous convictions on drug charges, dating to 2001, investigators said.

Caldwell County Sheriff Alan Jones said authorities began getting complaints from residents about 10 months ago about the sale of marijuana and prescription pills in the area near Durant’s house, on Summer Way.

“We have recognized this area to be a concern for drug activity, and we are diligently addressing the problems,” Jones said.

The sheriff said agents raided Durant’s residence Tuesday and found 228 hydrocodone pills; five oxycodone pills; 115 alprazolam pills; 15 Endocet pills; nearly a half-pound of marijuana; a marijuana plant; digital weighing scales; and a variety of drug paraphernalia.

Jessica Lynn Kincaid, 29, of Morganton, was at the residence when agents arrived and also was arrested, Jones said.

Durant was charged with two counts of trafficking in opiates; two counts of possession with intent to sell or deliver marijuana; two counts of possession with intent to sell or deliver alprazolam; and two counts of maintaining a dwelling to store or keep a controlled substance.

Kincaid was charged with one count of trafficking in opiates.
