CMPD asking for public’s cell phones

Charlotte-Mecklenburg police reminded the public Monday that they are still collecting cell phones for Safe Alliance, the emergency shelter in Charlotte for victims of domestic violence.

Any cell phone -- even those that are broken, old or damaged -- will be recycled, with the money sent directly to the shelter.

Cell phones can be dropped off at any CMPD division during business hours.
