What’s biting this week?

November 19, 2013

•  Catfish: Fair. A few weeks ago, fishing remained inexplicably tough. But as water temperatures have started to drop, the bite seems to have improved. In the main channel, blues in the 5-12 pound range have been caught. As temperatures drop, fish will likely bunch up more and get easier to catch.

•  Largemouth Bass: Slow to fair. We are in a transition period and the bite has been pretty tough. While some fish can still be caught shallow on shad imitations and jigs, the Alabama rig bite has started to get good and should only get stronger through November. Look for fishing to improve as water temperatures cool a few more degrees.
