The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department is searching for a Charlotte man who cut off his electric monitor Saturday.

Emilio Argueta-Fontanez, 19, was being monitored for a pre-trial armed robbery charge he was arrested for in August. He was charged Nov. 4 with assaulting a government official and communicating threats, both misdemeanors.

On condition of his release from jail, he was court-ordered on Nov. 16 to wear a monitor.

Police say Argueta-Fontanez was last seen in the 1200 block of North Tryon Street Saturday.

Anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to contact the Violent Criminal Apprehension Team at 704-336-8228 or 911.
