Charlotte Rescue Mission needs homemade desserts for Thanksgiving

November 26, 2013

Charlotte Rescue Mission is collecting cakes, pies, cookies and other sweets for its annual Thanksgiving homemade dessert drive.

Fresh desserts can be dropped off at the Rescue Mission, 907 W. First St., on Tuesday and Wednesday, 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m., and on Thanksgiving morning until 10 a.m.

The rescue mission, a residential program for men and women with drug and/or alcohol addictions, is located near the Carolina Panthers practice fields. Drop off desserts in the main lobby in the second building on the left.

“Nothing caps off a delicious meal like a tasty dessert,” executive director Rev. Tony Marciano said in a statement. “We want everyone who comes (here) on Thanksgiving to receive a real taste of home.”
