CHS varsity earns academic award

For the fifth year, the 2013 Clover High School Boys Varsity Soccer team has been awarded the National Soccer Coaches Association of America Team Academic All-American Award.

This honor is given to teams who have a grade-point average of at least 3.25 GPA on a 4-point scale. Only 370 programs in the country earned this award. CHS finished the year with a 3.98 GPA.

This gives the boys’ soccer program the third highest GPA among boys’ soccer teams in South Carolina, behind only Academic Magnet and Dorman.

The CHS boys program also had the 11th highest GPA among all boys’ soccer programs in the country and a final ranking of 41st among the more than 22,000 soccer programs (both boys and girls) in the United States.

The 2013 Varsity members included: Garrett Hybarger, Steven Alvarez, Bailey Bottini, Manny Vargas, Caleb Costner, Fernando Alpizar, Brandon Berardo, Pierce Sutton, Billy Angelou, Nevada Henderson, Brad Johnson, Nathan Vogt, David Tribaldos, Evan Edmunds, Christian Berardo, Mitch Johnson, Adam Edmunds, Micah Childress, Boston Henderson, Tanner Alexander and Robert Schreiner.
