The Lake Wylie Friends in Business will hold its lunch meeting at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 18, at All Saints Catholic Church.

New restaurant opening in Fort Mill

A new restaurant is coming to Fort Mill.

Flipside Cafe, 3150 Hwy. 21 N., in Regent Park area near Carowinds Boulevard, is opening this week or next, the owners said. The restaurant will be open breakfast, lunch and dinner, and for brunch on Saturday and Sunday. The menu features a range of dishes from lobster quiche to meatloaf mac and cheese.

“My husband and I have been in the industry for a combined 30 years, but this is our first adventure in starting our own, so we are very excited,” co-owner Amy Kumpf said.

Siopa on Main holds weekly holiday market

Siopa On Main in downtown Clover is hosting a Holiday Market event from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays through Dec. 21 at the shop, 112 S. Main St.

Credit union offering free workshops

Family Trust Federal Credit Union will offer a free money management workshop series at its Clover and Fort Mill locations beginning Jan. 14.

The series, "Know Your Dough: Inspiring Financial Freedom" will be held from 6:30 to 7:30. Basic budgeting will be the first topic presented Jan. 14 at the Clover office, 1219 Hwy. 55 E. The speaker will be Jennifer Panther, certified financial counselor at Financially Focused Inc.

Other topics will include improving your credit score, home-buying basics and documents needed in the event of death or incapacity. Speakers will include representatives from Family Trust’s Mortgage Service Center, and Mitchell Payne of Warner, Payne and Black. Participants will be entered to win prizes at each workshop.
