Keep Christ in Christmas and defend our constitutional rights

December 21, 2013

The anti-CHRISTmas movement activists, which are miniscule in number, know exactly what they are doing.

Now to their more obvious tactics, they are depending on the ignorance (not stupidity) of Christians, church members, attendees, good and decent Americans, including people like Thomas Jefferson. Huh? Thomas Jefferson? You might ask, “What on earth does he have to do with this?” Jefferson didn’t believe religiously like most mainstream America, but he adamantly valued and defended the rights clearly defined in the First Amendment of our U.S. Constitution. It’s imperative we educate ourselves and not ignorantly stand by. Everyone must get on board and know their rights or lose them. If we don’t, all of our service men and women who came before us spilled their blood and died in vain.

I plead with you to know, one has the on-going right to express, share or proclaim their beliefs in public or private settings. In the First Amendment, Congress had no reason to and neither should they have had to distinguish whether this right extended into a public or private setting. This right was God’s given free will, and as so, was to be nothing more than individual choice. Here’s how our U.S. Constitution reads:

Congress shall make NO LAW respecting an establishment of RELIGION, …. OR PROHIBITING the FREE EXERCISE thereof; OR ABRIDGING the FREEDOM OF SPEECH, or of the PRESS; or the RIGHT of the PEOPLE peacefully to ASSEMBLE, and to PETITION the Government for a REDRESS OF GRIEVANCES. (First Amendment).

Friends how can this be open for interpretation? Regardless of who is occupying the judge’s bench, Supreme or not, Christians can pray in Christ’s name. Moreover, Christians can say, “Jesus loves me!,” “Jesus loves you!” or even “Merry CHRISTmas!”

As Christian Americans we are failing. We are allowing ourselves to be indoctrinated and live in fear of making a stand. The greater tragedy is we have full knowledge of it, and we are too passive. God help us while we can still mention Him without punishment.

The American Civil Liberties Union, anti-Christian and anti-American organizations are purposely intimidating our country into taking away our rights in the name of protecting other’s “rights.” How bizarre is that?

What if we substituted “Martin Luther King Jr. Day” with the term, “Civil Rights Day?” We could say this action was taken to not offend relatives of Rosa Parks, Jackie Robinson, heroes of protest sit-ins, etc. We would be doing an injustice to Martin Luther King Jr. We would be taking away from his identity, uniqueness and accomplishments. As I transition over to how this movement is affecting CHRISTmas no way am I comparing MLK to the Savior, but, are you understanding the principle here?

Whoever thought it would come to this, that we would have to fight to keep Christ in Christmas? Why does Jesus Christ offend so many? What’s so threatening about Him? He’s never hurt anyone and never will. Matter of fact, He’s in the business of doing only good for the human race. He chose to be born in the form of man just to die for all of us. Many of us in America and throughout the world know the greatest love story of all time.

Many retailers, stores, restaurants, businesses, governing bodies and public schools are going out of their way to hide Him from the public. They’re making Him generic by replacing slogans and advertisement related to Him. One example is replacing “Merry Christmas” with “Happy Holidays.” Ten to 15 years ago, Happy Holidays was not alarming. Yet, because we have been spoonfed a little at a time from a deceptive angle, so we don’t get bent out of shape, unfortunately today it is still not alarming. Wake up and smell the Kool-Aid people!

These groups have obviously been successful in wearing down Christians down, to forget how and why the United States was born. Will we the people allow them to also neutralize our thoughts and desensitize us to gradually forgetting the real reason for the season of Christmas?

Sources show 75 percent of America is Christian by faith. Another survey shows 82 percent believes Jesus Christ is the son of God. To top it off, 95 percent celebrate traditional Christmas. Why should only 5 percent or less control the masses? This is way beyond money, even though, they’re making it off the back of my savior and the events that took place at or near His birth. They don’t want to recognize Him for it. What a shame and disgrace!

We all can stand shoulder to shoulder, hand in hand, and say “We demand that anti-Constitutional and anti-American zealots must quit stomping on our U.S. Constitution! For it reflects all the above freedoms given from our Creator “who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: but made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men.” (Philippians 2: 6-7) and, HE came as a newborn babe so many years ago.

Merry CHRISTmas!
