Recycling record set at Panthers games

January 16, 2014

The Carolina Panthers, and game-day volunteers outside the stadium, collected 126 tons of waste to be recycled this football season.

The Panthers collected 77.56 tons inside the stadium, says a post-season summary from Keep Mecklenburg Beautiful, and 12.42 tons of compostable waste. Volunteers took in another 36.76 tons in parking lots around the stadium.

One hundred thirty volunteers took part in the parking-lot recycling collections. The program has operated for five years. Bruce Henderson
