Burke County: Closed, optional teacher workday

Cabarrus County: Closed for students

Caldwell County: Closed, optional teacher workday (2-hr delay for staff)

Carmel Christian: 2-hour delay

Catawba County: Closed, optional teacher workday, 2-hour delay for staff

Central Academy - Lake Park: Closed

Charlotte Christian: 1 1/2-hour delay

Charlotte Montessori: Closed

Charlotte Preparatory: 2-hour delay

Chester County: Closed

Chesterfield County: Closed, 2-hour delay for 240-day staff

Cleveland County: Closed; optional teacher workday (2-hr delay)

Clover: 2-hour delay

Covenant Day: 2-hour delay

Fletcher School: 2-hour delay

Fort Mill: 3-hour delay

Gaston County: Closed, optional teacher workday

Gaston Day: 1-hour delay

Gray Stone Day Charter: Opens at 10 a.m.

Isothermal Community College: Opens at 9 a.m.

Johnson and Wales: Classes to start at 9:30 a.m.; Culinary, Bakery & Pastry labs open at 9 a.m.

Johnson C. Smith University: Open on regular schedule

NASCAR Tech: Opens at 8 a.m.

Pfeiffer University: 2-hour delay

Richmond Community College: Closed

South Piedmont Community College: Closed

UNC Charlotte: Normal schedule

USC-Lancaster: Opens at noon, classes resume at 1 p.m.

Winthrop University: Open on regular schedule

York Tech, opening at 10 a.m.

Charlotte Mecklenburg libraries: 2-hour delay

Charlotte Regional Farmers Market: opens at 10 a.m.

Cleveland County courts: opens at 10 a.m.

Gaston County courts: opens at 11 a.m.

Lincoln County courts: opens at 9:30 a.m.

Mint Museum of Charlotte: opens at noon

North Carolina Zoo: closed

Sea-Life (Concord), arrival of animals at the aquarium postponed from Thursday to Feb. 6

Hickory (crews began late Wednesday and will do so again Thursday; Saturday pick-up is possible).
