Stanly man arrested on theft charge

— A Stanly County man has been charged with breaking into a business and stealing a 4-wheeler, authorities say.

Devaunte Daiquon Collins, 21, of New London, was arrested Monday, the sheriff’s office said. He was jailed under $10,500 bond and has a first court date of April 8, authorities said.

Investigators said the theft took place last Oct. 23 at Motorhead Toys in Richfield. Detectives said the investigation led them to Collins. He was charged with three felonies – breaking and entering, larceny after breaking and entering, and larceny.
