Thursday Night Tournament Trail begins April 3 on Lake Wylie.

Registration begins at 5:15 p.m. at Buster Boyd Access Area. Blast off is at 6:30 p.m. Entry fee costs $40 per boat.

Catawba Catfish Club on Wylie April 12

The Catawba Catfish Club hits Lake Wylie April 12 at Buster Boyd Access Area.

So far, the club has seen 62 teams compete in the tournament series held throughout South Carolina.

Sign ups will be held from 4 to 5:45 p.m., with tournament hours running from 6 p.m. to 2 a.m. The weigh-in is at 2:30 a.m.

Nivens Creek Access Area closed temporarily for repairs

The Nivens Creek Boating Access Area on Lake Wylie is closed temporarily to allow for paving repairs to the parking area. Weather permitting, the access area will reopen at the end of the month.

“These maintenance repairs are part of ongoing efforts by Duke Energy to ensure quality access areas are available to the recreational boating public for use at our lakes,” said John Crutchfield, director of Duke Energy’s public safety and recreation strategy planning services.

Boaters may use the Allison Creek, Ebenezer Park and Buster Boyd access areas as alternates during this time.

Marine group meets monthly

Lake Wylie Marine Commission meets at 7 p.m. the fourth Monday of the month at various locations in York, Gaston and Mecklenburg counties. The public is invited. For more information and meeting locations, visit lakewyliemarinecommission.com.
