Today’s traffic: Collision on I-77 near lake

The biggest traffic problem at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday in the Charlotte region is near Lake Norman.

Authorities have reported a collision on southbound Interstate 77 near mile marker 30. That is in the Davidson area.

Southbound traffic is experiencing moderate to heavy delays for a few miles in the area.

Meanwhile, all lanes are open again on Kings Drive after an overnight wreck that closed the road for about six hours.

The Kings Drive wreck was reported about 2 a.m. at Morehead Street. Power lines were knocked down, and police were forced to close the intersection for the rest of the night.

Duke Energy crews were able to complete repairs about 8 a.m. and reopen the road. Police say there were no injuries in the collision.

Here is the 9:30 a.m. update:

Daimler Boulevard, near Tega Cay and Lake Wylie ... The York County Sheriff’s Office is conducting training operations this week on Daimler Boulevard, between S.C. 274 and S.C. 49. Motorists need to find an alternate route to Daimler Boulevard.

I-77 southbound, Lake Norman area ... Congestion and a collision near mile marker 30; traffic moving 20-30 mph from Brawley School Road (Exit 35) down to mile marker 30.

Freedom Drive at Alleghany Street ... Collision; minor delays.

Eastway Drive at Shamrock Drive ... Collision; minor delays.
