OMS raises $1,800 with Hoops for Heart

Oakridge Middle School held its annual Hoops for Heart faculty/student basketball game March 21with the entire student body in attendance.

Students in all grade levels competed against faculty members in the basketball game. The event collected more than $1,800 for the American Heart Association.

Students who participated in the game were:

• Sixth grade: Bryson Whisnant, Tay Cupe, Jeffery Lightner, Nate Garrett, Jack Johnson, Zion Robbins, Donnie Saleeba, Cole Wilson, Isaiah Currie, Cameron Malcolm, Jarrett Scott.

• Seventh grade: Matthew George, Antonio Mitchell, Justin Khem, Camden Largen, Tyler Anderson, Zach Daugherty, Chase Sivo, James Laney.

• Eighth grade: Colby Ratlift, Austin Gunnels, David Saleeba, Justin Pereira, Zach Hughes, Jackson Watkins.

Belmont Rec

Youth leagues forming

• Belmont Parks & Recreation Department will hold registration for spring leagues through April 12. Youth baseball is for ages 13-14. Youth T-Ball is for ages 3-6. Youth Golf Clinic is for ages 6-15. The registration fee is $50 in the city limits of Belmont, $75 out of city. Sign-ups will be taken online at cityofbelmont.org or at 37 E. Woodrow Ave. For more information, call 704-901-2070.

USA Football camp coming to Rock Hill

The Rock Hill/York County Convention & Visitors Bureau and Rock Hill schools will welcome the USA Football Regional Development Camp to South Pointe High School on April 12-13.

The USA Football Regional Development Camp is for athletes in seventh to 11th grades and focuses on development on and off the field. Participating athletes will have the opportunity to train with NFL and NCAA coaches, listen and learn from former NFL players, and receive an evaluation from an NFL or college scout.
