Two Charlotte wrecks sent eight to the hospital

Two separate accidents in Charlotte sent eight people to the hospital Saturday afternoon, some with life-threatening injuries.

About noon, there was a six-vehicle wreck at Eastway Drive and The Plaza injuring five people, according to Medic. Three were taken to CMC Main with life-threatening injuries, one was taken to the hospital with potentially life-threatening injuries, and one with minor injuries.

About 1 p.m., there was another crash involving multiple cars at Independence Boulevard and Sharon Amity Road. Two people were taken to Novant’s main hospital with minor injuries and two people with potentially life-threatening injuries.
