Couple to lead family worship

Nathan and Erica Smith have joined Lake Wylie Baptist Church, 15630 York Road, as worship and family pastor and pianist.

Nathan Smith has a bachelor’s degree in Christian ministry from Piedmont International University in Winston Salem, N.C. He served two churches as music leader before coming to Lake Wylie Baptist Church.

Erica Smith earned a music education degree from Pacific Islands University. She has enjoyed teaching piano lessons to students ages 5 through adulthood, and working with elementary, middle and high school choirs.

“We hope to pass on a love for music, and we pray this gift from God is a blessing to children and their families,” said Nathan Smith.

The Smiths have started a children’s choir that practices at 6 p.m. Sundays at the church. Children perform about once a month during the church’s 10 a.m. Sunday worship service. In addition, private piano lessons are offered at the church.
