Zumbathon set for Friday at Lake Wylie YMCA

The Charlotte Alpha Gamma Delta Alumnae Chapter will hold the second annual “Shake the Foundation” Zumbathon from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Friday, April 25, at the Lake Wylie YMCA, 4036 Charlotte Highway, Suite 110.

Last year, $700 was raised for the Alpha Gamma Delta Foundation, which provides grants to many organizations focused on diabetes research and development, such as Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.

Anyone can participate. Tickets cost $10 in advance or $15 at the door; they are available at the YMCA and through PayPal payments made to cltagds@gmail.com.

Scouts holding craft show Saturday in Clover

Boy Scout Troop 1280 and Girl Scout Troop 2822 will hold an Arts & Crafts Show Saturday, April 26, at First United Methodist Church, 124 Bethel St.

Barbecue plates will be sold for $7.

All proceeds go to the troops.

Give blood April 30 with Lake Wylie Rotary

Lake Wylie Rotary Club will host an Upper Palmetto American Red Cross blood drive from noon to 4:30 p.m. April 30 at Watson Insurance, 4569 Charlotte Highway.

To schedule an appointment, visit redcrossblood.org, click “Donating Blood” and enter “29710,” then scroll the calender.

The Rotary Club meets at noon Tuesdays at Good Samaritan United Methodist Church, 5220 Crowders Cove Road. Guests and new members are invited. Lunch costs $9, catered by Christopher’s.
