— Police recovered a 10-inch-long bong, five marijuana pipes and other illicit items from the car of a Clover man in York, according to a report.

York police arrested Sean Franklin Hagler, 25, on drug paraphernalia charges on the morning of April 13 during a traffic stop on S.C. 321 bypass.

According to the report, police pulled Hagler over for failing to properly stop at a red light. Officers then noticed what looked like a firearm draped by clothing in the backseat as well as an empty machete case lying on the floor near the driver’s seat.

When Hagler exited his vehicle, police also heard a loud clink and saw a pill bottle with a missing cap fall from his lap and onto the pavement. Hagler admitted to having five or six marijuana pipes in his car after police asked him a second time if he had anything illegal in the vehicle.

What police thought was a firearm turned out to be an Airsoft gun – a recreational replica gun that fires non-metallic pellets. The gun had been painted black to resemble a real firearm, the report states.

Police than found a 10-inch glass bong on the floor of the car, a rifle, brass knuckles, several knives, a baton and the missing machete. The report states that officers also located the cap of the pill bottle that fell from Hagler’s lap and appeared to have marijuana residue on it.

Officers seized the pipes, bong, brass knuckles and modified Airsoft gun. Hagler said all items belonged to him and not to a female passenger also present in the car during the arrest.

A tow truck driver took the female passenger home.
