Clover Pop Warner 5K Saturday
CLOVER The Clover Area Pop Warner will host its first 5K/trail run at 8 a.m. Saturday, May 3, at Clover High School. Money raised will help local youth football players and cheerleaders.
The Clover Area Pop Warner Eagles was founded in 2010. For more details and online registration for the 5K, visit eteamz.com/cloverpw.
Last year, the Clover program grew to more than 175 children. The teams competed in local bowl games, and the cheerleaders qualified for the national competition and traveled to Disney World.
Sixteen student athletes have been named Pop Warner National Scholars and will be recognized for their academic excellence at Disney World in May.
Girls on Run 5K May 10
YORK COUNTY The spring Girls on the Run 5K begins at 8:30 a.m. May 10 at downtown Rock Hill.
It is the 10th anniversary of Girls on the Run Tri County SC. The nonprofit organization offers a 10-week after-school program for girls in third through eighth grade. The program focuses on developing and enhancing girls’ “competencies to successfully navigate life experiences along with promoting healthy habits for lifelong fitness and wellness.”

WEST END, NC Final results from the Carolinas Golf Association’s Senior Four-Ball Tournament April 22 at Camden Country Club in Camden, included Lake Wylie area golfers.
• Super Senior 65 and older (5,734 yards): Harry Goff and Mike Shively, both of Lake Wylie, 39-39 - 78.
• Super Senior 70 and older (5,319 yards): Herb Towell of Lake Wylie and Carlos Salas of Clover, 38-40 - 78.
Tournament format is 18 holes of four-ball stroke play, both gross and net. Ninty percent of a player’s course handicap is used to determine net scores. Entry is open to any male amateur golfer who has reached his 55th birthday by the tournament date, is a member of a club which is a member of the Carolinas Golf Association, and has a current USGA handicap index at a CGA member club.

CHARLOTTE The Might Acts captain’s choice golf tournament of Central Steele Creek Presbyterian Church will be held June 7 at Spring Lake Golf Course, 1375 Springlake Road, York.
Entry fee is $55 per golfer and includes lunch at 12:30 p.m. Shotgun start is at 1:30 p.m.
There will be prizes for lowest team score, longest drive, closest to the pin, hole in one and putting contest.

Fun 4 Four tourney set
LAKE WYLIE Fun 4 Four Tennis Tournament will be held May 30-June 1 at River Hills Country Club.
The tournament teams consist of four players – two men and two women in three flights of 6.5, 7.5 or 8.5-plus.
Play style is round-robin. There will be complimentary lunch and beverages each day, with player packages and prizes for top teams. Cost is $55 per person.
