5 students injured after school buses crash

Five students were taken to the hospital after two Charlotte-Mecklenburg School buses crashed in west Charlotte, authorities said.

The buses – No. 75 and No. 1481 – were taking children home from Northwest School of the Arts, said CMS Spokeswoman Stacy Sneed.

All the children that were injured were taken to the hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

The cause of the wreck was still under investigation, according to police.

School officials notified parents about the crash.
