Big fish: Matt Davis/Jeffery Bryant, 5.89

— Thursday Night Tournament Trail co-organizer Erwin Gaston asks: “Where is everybody?”

“I believe the word got out that the fish were not biting last Thursday night,” he said of the May 8 event. “We only had 35 boats, and only 10 of them weighed in fish.”

However, someone figured the the fish out. Mike Stevens and Brian New weighed in the five-fish limit at 20.90 pounds to take the win.

Second place went to Matt Davis and Jeffery Bryant with five fish weighing 16.45 pounds. They also reeled in the big fish of the night at 5.89 pounds.

The weekly trail continues through September. Registration is at 5:15 p.m. at Buster Boyd Access Area. Blastoff is at 6:30 p.m. Entry fees cost $40 per boat. Trail sponsors are Academy Sports, Kangaroo Express and A-1 Adams Bail Bond.
