McCrory to speak at Wingate graduation

North Carolina Gov. Pat McCrory will be the keynote speaker Saturday at Wingate University’s commencement exercises.

McCrory last year delivered commencement addresses at Campbell University and at his alma mater, Catawba College. He also was the commencement speaker Friday at Rowan-Cabarrus Community College.

Wingate’s graduation ceremony is at 9 a.m. in the Academic Quadrangle on campus.

Here are some of Saturday’s other commencement exercises in the Carolinas (with commencement speaker information if available):

Belmont Abbey College: 11 a.m., front lawn of the basilica.

Catawba College: 10 a.m., Keppel Auditorium.

Charlotte School of Law: 1 p.m., Bojangles Coliseum.

Coker College: 8:30 a.m., Davidson Hall courtyard.

Guilford College: 9:30 a.m., King Hall lawn.

Warren Wilson College: 10 a.m., Sunderlawn Lawn. Peter Sagal, host of NPR’s “Wait, Wait ... Don’t Tell Me.”

Western Carolina University: 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., Ramsey Regional Activity Center. 10 a.m., Arts & Sciences; Education; Fine and Performing Arts. 3 p.m., Business; Health and Human Sciences; Kimmel School.
