The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department was busy overnight with separate homicide investigations.

At 3:36 a.m. Saturday, authorities responded to the 800 block of High Meadow Lane in the Steele Creek Division and found a man suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.

The victim, whose name wasn’t released, was taken to Carolinas Medical Center where he was pronounced dead by medical personnel.

Police said an earlier alternation with a subject known by the victim led to the shooting. According to police, that person was detained and is cooperating with authorities.

Police answered another call at 4:16 a.m. to the 6900 block of Hidden Forest Drive in the North Tryon Division and found a man who had been shot. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The victim’s name wasn’t released pending notification of the family.

Police said the victim and known suspects had an alternation Friday evening. The suspects then drove to where the victim was staying to continue the argument, police said.

According to authorities, one of the suspects then shot the victim and the suspects left in a vehicle.

Police are canvassing the area to determine whether there are any witnesses to the incident.

Anyone with information about the cases should call 704-432-8477 or Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600.
