9 graduate from York County Sheriff's Citizens Academy

— Nine people graduated this week from the York County Sheriff’s Citizens Academy.

The 12-week class met on Monday evenings and offered an up close look into the York County Sheriff’s Office. Classes included criminal investigations, uniform patrol, forensics, polygraph, public information, crime prevention, dive team, K-9 and SWAT, according to a news release from the sheriff's office.

The class also took tours of the Detention Center and York County Public Safety Communications.

The academy class is open to adults, 18 and older, and is provided free of charge.
