Five local students are among the 63 high school seniors in South Carolina recognized Tuesday for perfect attendance for their entire academic careers.

Three of the students are from South Pointe High School, including Franquia Byers, Raven Byers and Hannah Jackson. Also honored were Amanda Yarborough from Clover High School and Alexus Young of Chester High School.

“These extraordinary students are to be commended for their dedication,” said State Superintendent of Education Mick Zais in a statement. “Going to school for over 2,000 days consecutively is an incredible achievement, and I’d like to recognize the tireless dedication these students and their families showed to their education.”
