ROCK HILL — Winthrop University trustees say they will hold a special board meeting on Friday to discuss the employment contract of President Jamie Comstock Williamson.
The board announced the meeting on Wednesday afternoon. Fridays noon meeting of the full Board of Trustees was not originally scheduled for this year.
The next regularly scheduled board meeting is June 26, where trustees are expected to discuss Winthrops tuition for the next academic year and some amendments to the boards bylaws.
Williamson was named Winthrops 10th president last February. Her one-year anniversary on the job is July 1.
Winthrop celebrated the inauguration of its newest president at the end of March with a week-long tribute to the schools history, Williamsons leadership and the universitys academic traditions.
The board plans to meet behind closed doors on Friday to discuss Williamsons contract. An opportunity for public comment before the executive session is scheduled for noon in the Gold Room of the DiGiorgio Campus Center.
