Clover’s Thompson signs with Belmont Abbey

Clover High School basketball standout Alex Thompson has signed a national letter of intent to play for the Belmont Abbey College team in Belmont.

Thompson, one of the premier players in Region 3-AAAA during his Blue Eagle career at CHS, showcased his skills to Belmont Abbey coaches on several occasions.

“He has worked hard this spring to get to this point and impressed the coaches at Belmont Abbey during several workouts,” said Blue Eagle head basketball coach Bailey Jackson.

Jackson added: “We are very proud of our Blue Eagle basketball product and look forward to seeing him play so close to home.”
