LAKE WYLIE — The weekly Thursday Night Tournament Trail had 36 boats turn out on a hot night to compete for the heaviest weight of fish.
Mike McDuffee and Casey West smoked the field, said Erwin Gaston, trail organizer with Jeremy Cabe.
“Casey said they put together a pattern that produced 10 fish,” Gaston said. The best five weighed 15.70 pounds.
Second place went to Brian Holder and Daniel Whitesides with a weight of 11.19 pounds.
There is no tournament July 3 because of the holiday.
“We will be back to sign everyone up on July 10,” Gaston said.
The weekly trail continues through the end of August with the Fish Off Sept. 5-6. Registration is at 5:20 p.m. at Buster Boyd Access Area.
Blastoff is at 6:30 p.m. Entry fees cost $40 per boat. Trail sponsors are Academy Sports, Kangaroo Express and A-1 Adams Bail Bond.
