The York County Sheriff’s Office says vandals damaged dozens of mailboxes, stop signs and street signs late Wednesday or early Thursday along the state line north of Clover.

The sheriff’s office said it had been contacted by 8 a.m. Thursday about 50 mailboxes either being opened or run over and destroyed. Trent Faris, a spokesman for the sheriff’s office, said street and stop signs also were damaged.

The damage took place on S.C. 577, S.C. 564, Parham Road, Cross Road, Ridge Road, and on Patrick Road in both York and Gaston counties.

The sheriff’s office asked that anyone with information in the case contact investigators at 803-628-3059 or Crime Stoppers, 1-877-409-4321.

Additional victims of the vandalism are asked to call 803-628-3056.
