Wylie golfers finish tourney at 69

Cindy Altieri and Tom Bookmiller, both of Lake Wylie, finished 35-34 - 69 in the mixed/women division of the June 30 Carolinas Golf Association’s Four-Ball Tournament at TPC Piper Glen in Charlotte.

Tournament format is 18 holes of four-ball stroke play, both gross and net. Entry is open to amateur golfers who are a member of a club that is a member of the Carolinas Golf Asso`ciation, and has a current USGA handicap index at a CGA member club. The field is divided into flights based on yardages and gender.

Basketball

Lady Blue Eagles’ basketball camp begins Monday

The first Clover High School all-girls basketball camp will be 5-7:30 p.m. July 14-17.

The camp director is Shakkia Walker, assistant girls’ basketball coach at CHS. The Lady Blue Eagle coaching staff, players and former players will provide instruction.

Early registration is recommended, with final registration to be at 4:30 p.m. July 14. Multi-child discount is $10 per child.

Camp day activities will focus on the fundamentals of the game, including dribbling, footwork, shooting, defense and ball-handling.

Belmont Rec

Youth, adult leagues forming

Belmont Parks & Recreation Department is holding registration for youth fall baseball for ages 6-14, youth girls’ volleyball for ages 9-15, and youth soccer for ages 3-15 starting July 14 through July 26.

The registration fee is $50 in the city limits or $75 out of city. Sign up online at cityofbelmont.org or 37 E. Woodrow Ave. For more information, call 704-901-2070.

Registration for adult soccer runs Monday, July 14, through Aug. 22. Cost is $300 per team in the city limits of Belmont, $350 per team out of city or $40 per individual in the city limits of Belmont, $45 out of city.
